For 13 years, CAA Head Start has offered parents the opportunity to participant in a free soccer league designed specifically for their 3, 4, or 5 year-old Head Start child. The soccer league has grown from just a few to over 800 families and children participating each year.
Head Start soccer takes place on Saturday mornings during the fall. The season lasts for five weeks and all soccer games are played in the Bond Hill area. Games last 30 minutes and the children receive a snack after the game. At the end of the soccer season, children receive a trophy and certificate for participating in the soccer program.
CAA’s soccer program is made possible only through the help of our many volunteers and it can be an extremely rewarding experience for both parent and child. CAA’s Head Start Soccer League provides an opportunity for parents to bond with their children. It also helps children develop gross motor skills, fight childhood obesity, and learn team work and good sportsmanship. There are many opportunities for parents to get involved - as a coach, field parent, referee, or through one of the many other volunteer opportunities in our soccer program.
If you have not yet registered your Head Start child to participate in the Soccer League, you can do so by completing the Child Registration Form and returning it to your child's teacher or family service worker.
High School Students: Have fun and volunteer your time as a Head Start Soccer League referee. Return the completed form by fax to 513.569.1251 or by mail to CAA Head Start - 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237.
